Respect, Responsibility,
& Reverence
My name is Jennifer Sheridan. I have been part of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton family since September 2001 and I am starting my 24th year. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from Adelphi University and then went on to receive a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Montclair State University. I am licensed to practice in the state of New York as a Speech-Language Pathologist and I have earned my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. I have also provided Academic Intervention Services at SEAS since 2010 and this year, in addition to providing Speech-Language services, I am excited to take on the position of Director of Special Education as well as RTI Specialist.
Response to Intervention (RTI) is a teaching/learning process using evidence-based instructional methods that reflect the individual student's needs. These methods are monitored, modified, and adjusted as necessary to ensure the student's continued growth. RTI is a school wide improvement process that is based on tiers of increasing intensive interventions. RTI is carried out in the general education setting to ensure that all teachers are responsible for all students.
