Respect, Responsibility,
& Reverence
We had another great, productive week last week!
In religion, we focused on sharing God's love and ways we can do that. In our Bible, we learned the story of Simeon and Anna and how excited they were to meet baby Jesus.
In reading, we talked about people in our neighborhood. We talked about what it means to be a good neighbor... you can help carry groceries, shovel, or even welcome your new neighbors to the neighborhood by giving a plant, or by baking food.
Our sight word was /do/ and our fundations letter was /e/; it was our last vowel!
In math, we continued in Chapter 5 - Addition! We counted how many in all, problem solved, added to make 10, reviewed, and assessed!
Our theme for the week was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We celebrated his life and learned the lessons of everyone being treated fairly and equally. We recognized the difference of being peacemakers vs. peacebreakers. We watched videos, colored, created MLK faces project, and wrote about how the children can be peacemakers. It was a great week studying a great man.
We also created mittens and wrote about what winter is a time for. We colored mugs brown for hot chocolate... this week, we'll glue cotton balls to the mugs for marshmallows.
