Respect, Responsibility,
& Reverence
Sixth grade is an exciting year of growth and new responsibilities! Sixth graders will take on the challenges of a departmental schedule where they will learn to balance four new teachers and their assignments.
Students have their own locker, and changing classes every period is a new and exciting experience for the students. In April, sixth graders will take part in the New York State testing program in ELA and Math. The most memorable event of the sixth grade will be our annual trip to Nature’s Classroom. Students strengthen their bonds with each other and develop community awareness.
Seventh graders will continue to balance a departmental schedule and maintain an orderly locker. Students will continue to partake in our monthly school masses as altar servers, readers and cantors. Students deepen their knowledge of American history and study physical science.
An important SEAS tradition, one of the highlights of seventh grade is working with our Kindergarten Prayer Pals. Students are paired with Kindergarteners, and accompany them to Mass and prayer services to develop a friendship.
Eighth Grade is the final year at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Regional School, and it is a year filled with academic successes and wonderful memories. Part of this process will begin with Open Houses for the Catholic High Schools in September and October. In early November, students prepare for and take the Test for Admission into Catholic High School (TACHS).
Along the way, students will engage in Common-Core based learning and the utilization of technology both in and out of the classroom. The students will work cooperatively throughout the year on a series of community service projects. Students in Eighth Grade will also receive Confirmation at their respective parishes. Students in Eighth Grade will become Ambassadors to Christ as they begin their spiritual and academic journey towards high school. Advanced Math and Science courses allow SEAS 8th graders to graduate having taken the NYS Regents Exams in Algebra and Living Environment.
