Respect, Responsibility,
& Reverence
Dear Nursery Parents, May 21, 2023
The month of May has truly been a celebration of new life. Our Nursery students have observed caterpillars change into butterflies. We have learned about ants and observed them building ant hills right outside our classroom. We have read about the Robin Red Breast bird and how it comes back to the very same nest it built the year before. We have made bird feeders hoping to observe some new neighbors near our classroom. The beautiful flowers on the trees along our street, have blown away and leaves now replace them to give us shade. Our painted flower pots are now filled with tiny plants that will grow into flowers. Best of all, we have honored our Mother Mary during a May procession in our classroom. The flowers that lay at her feet were made by our children with the help of Ms. Estevez, our Art teacher.
As we come to the end of our beautiful month, we will celebrate Memorial Day by making a flag and by counting how many flags we see in our neighborhoods. We are thankful to live in America. Our field day is almost upon us. We will celebrate the morning with the pre-k and Mr. Larke. He has planned some fantastic games for us. We will celebrate with an ice cream treat after the games. Please be reminded, our field day is Tuesday, May 30th. We will meet on the school playground at 10:00 am.
Our Faith Program this week encourages prayer. The students will listen to a story;"Abby Says Thank You to God". The story will help the children to understand we can pray at special times during the day and we may pray privately at anytime.
The End of the Year Prayer Service will take place June 8th, at 10:00 in the Thomas Reynolds Gymnasium. We will be practicing over the next two weeks for a celebration on this day.
We look forward to some fun weeks of learning ahead of us.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jane Cappiello
