My name is Jean Carlson and I am starting my nineteenth year of teaching at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. I received m y BS and MS in Education from St. John’s University. I taught at St. Francis of Assisi in Astoria for seven years and taught Algebra and Geometry at St. Francis Preparatory in Fresh Meadows for eight years. I have my permanent certification from New York State in N-6 Elementary education and 7-12 Mathematics. I hold my Basic Certification for Religious Education from the Diocese of Rockville Centre. I have been married to Richard Carlson for 24 years. I have two children, Elizabeth and Kevin both alumni of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Elizabeth is currently a junior at Marywood University and Kevin is a freshman at Sacred Heart University. When I was hired 18 years ago as a part-time Advanced Math teacher I felt the position was a gift from God, I truly believe it continues to be.
