Dear Families,
Happy Wednesday! It was a short week, but we learned a lot in Pre-K.On Monday we learned about Holy Week and that the first day of Holy Week is Palm Sunday. We learned that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. The people greeted Jesus by waving palms and shouting "Hosanna!" We read the Bible story, watched a video, and made a craft.
Monday afternoon we had another STEAM challenge with the 6th grade. Each group had to build a table for Jesus at the Last Supper. Each group had different materials to use. They had to work together to construct a table only using the materials they were given. Please check the photo gallery for pictures from this event.On Tuesday we read the Bible story of the Last Supper and when Jesus went to the garden to pray. We also watched a video about these events from Holy Week as well.In the afternoon we began practicing for our Easter Prayer service. We also packed snack bags to donate to those who are in need of food. The students decorated the brown lunch bags and packed a juice box, pretzels, jelly beans, and an orange.Today we read the Bible story of Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We also went to the lobby and saw a large wooden cross, like the one Jesus had to carry. We also got to see a crown of thorns like the one Jesus wore. Please check the photo gallery for pictures.This morning we also worked on a Jelly Bean Prayer craft. We colored the jelly beans and cutout the prayer. These are being sent home with the children today.April 17th-25th: Easter Break. No school.April 30th: Easter Class Party.May 1st: Waffle Snack and Sweetbriar Nature Center visits Pre-k.May 2nd: Easter Prayer Service. 1:20 in the classroomHave a Happy Easter and enjoy the time with your families,
